ABOUT
OUR PLEDGE
When you think of Antagonist you might think of the bad guy, the one trying to take over the world or cause destruction. The protagonist must step in and thwart the Antagonist at the last second and blah blah blah. You've read the stories, seen the movies and TV shows. You know the narrative.
We don't see the word Antagonist like that. To us an Antagonist strives to make change, to be different and allow others to be different if they so wish. The protagonist is simply just a boring character that wishes to keep things the same, never change and never allow you to be different. We won't stay the same. We want change. We will be different.
This is a pledge we make to ourselves at Antagonist Brewing. We will antagonize and make this industry different. We will make shit happen.
What can you expect from us? How about don't expect anything. What we make will be what we make. We will certainly not be a one trick pony brewery but we will not turn our backs on classics or innovation--or whatever you call it.
Join us or don’t. We will be here regardless.
Antagonize.
WHO ARE WE?
This might be strange to hear but we don't think it matters who we are. We are experienced in the beer industry. Between us we have done almost everything there is to do with a brewery and quite well. Beyond that who cares?
We want the beer we brew to represent this brewery, not a couple of faces.
Look, we aren't trying to hide who we are. We aren't some big corporation trying to masquerade as a small business. You will see us in the brewery and taproom and at events. We'll talk with you and shoot the shit and have a beer. You can also pretty easily find out our names. We just don't want our faces plastered across the brewery like we are some big deal. We aren't that big a deal.
COMMUNITY
We have no intention of waltzing into a city, town, neighborhood or community and expect you to immediately like us because we are new. We want to earn the respect of those around us.
We intend to be involved in our community, heavily. We want to be a gathering place with our follow neighbors, be it patrons or other businesses. We want to gather with you elsewhere too. We want to work with local artists, makers and other small businesses to create a strong community of those that believe in their location. Together we all succeed.
